Sakura Internet announced that it had completed its investigation into the unauthorized access and said it does not currently plan to revise its earnings forecast. The impact is expected to be limited, and the company said it would promptly disclose any new matters requiring disclosure if they arise.
On 17 August, the company said it had confirmed unauthorized access by a third party to some customer environments on its rental server service, affecting 583 accounts. An additional investigation confirmed the possibility of similar unauthorized access involving a further 368 accounts, and the company took the necessary measures. No external removal or unauthorized use of data, or secondary damage, has been confirmed at this time.
As measures to prevent recurrence, the company formulated steps including expanding the scope of monitoring and detection functions for early detection. It said it would disclose any matters requiring disclosure that arise in the future.
