Consolidated revenue for the first half, from March to August 2026, increased 18.9% year on year to ¥4.935 billion, while operating profit returned to profitability at ¥641 million. Growth in the semiconductor business was the main driver, with revenue reaching ¥3.259 billion, up 70% year on year. Orders received reached a record ¥3.456 billion, demonstrating the strength of demand from data centers.
The company announced that it had developed a deep-ultraviolet femtosecond laser for semiconductor back-end processes as a new growth area, and that it had appointed Takayama Susumu (高山進) as a management strategy adviser.
The company revised its full-year forecast to revenue of ¥10.323 billion, operating profit of ¥1.367 billion and an operating margin of 13.2%. While indicating that its medium-term targets could be achieved, it also referred to challenges including the risk of higher raw-material costs in the healthcare business. On the financial side, the net debt-to-EBITDA multiple improved to 2.6x. The company plans additional investment of approximately ¥2.3 billion in Faraday rotators, and total capital expenditure for the second half was expected to be just under ¥4 billion.
