Vixen announced the Atera II H14×30 image-stabilized binoculars, with launch scheduled for 19 November. While the weight has been reduced to 429g, brightness has declined and the product is no longer described as having a waterproof function.
Vixen officially announced the new Atera II H14×30 image-stabilized binoculars (Mocha Brown), which are scheduled to launch on 19 November and are now available for reservation at a suggested retail price of ¥118,800, including tax. They offer 14× magnification, an effective objective-lens diameter of 30mm and a 2-axis gimbal-based image-stabilization mechanism called “Vibration Canceller.” They are 130g lighter than the previous H14×42WP model, reflecting a design that prioritizes portability.
Meanwhile, the index indicating brightness has changed from 8.3 on the previous model to 4.4 on the new model, and the reduced objective-lens diameter is also said to affect visibility during nighttime observation. The image-stabilization mechanism has the same V1 and V2 modes as before, but there are trade-offs in functions other than weight. It has also been noted that the new model is no longer described as having waterproof performance, leading to the view that care is required when using it outdoors.
