madsaunist enters into a business partnership with VETO JAPAN, Japan’s exclusive distributor of the Finnish-made “VETO” sauna stove

madsaunist, an academic sauna label that redesigns saunas from the perspectives of science, human physiology and field research, and VETO JAPAN, the exclusive distributor in Japan for Finnish sauna stove manufacturer VETO, have entered into a business partnership. Centered on integrated design of heat sources, steam and air, the two companies will provide new experience design for hotels, bathing facilities and sauna facilities in Japan. The first step in the partnership will be BASE LAYER HOTEL UNION, scheduled to open on 9 January 2027, which will be the first joint project combining madENGINE and VETO.

madsaunist is an academic sauna label that reconstructs saunas from the perspectives of science, human physiology and field research, and specializes in the integrated design of heat sources, steam and air. It pursues the sensation of being able to breathe deeply while heat reaches deep into the body, described as “intensely hot and richly humid, yet easy to breathe in,” and won Saunner of the Year 2024.

VETO is a longstanding Finnish manufacturer founded in 1965 that has produced electric sauna stoves for many years. It has carried forward an approach in which its open and humidifying structures create gentle steam with a small quantity of stones. madsaunist selected VETO as its heat source because it integrates the design of heat, humidity, airflow, durability and maintainability.

Part 2 explains that madENGINE can control superheated and saturated steam in 1°C increments and adjust steam volume separately, and presents a track record of installations including 御成桑拿. The MAD air supply and exhaust system allows air supply and exhaust to be adjusted in 1% increments, creating a sauna experience that combines steam design with tuning of the user experience.
