COVER revised upward its forecasts for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027. The strong performance of hololive Dreams is expected to lift margins in the licensing and tie-up business, resulting in a substantial upside in profit while maintaining the sales forecast.
COVER revised its cumulative second-quarter forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027, leaving net sales unchanged at ¥22.27 billion while raising operating income from ¥1.93 billion to ¥3.5 billion. Ordinary income was raised from ¥1.93 billion to ¥3.4 billion, and net income from ¥1.35 billion to ¥2.3 billion.
The jointly operated smartphone game “Holodori” got off to a stronger-than-expected start, and the licensing and tie-up business tracked above plan. In the merchandising business, inventory shortages and the timing of product launches affected performance, while changes in the sales mix also affected the cost structure.
Net sales are expected to remain broadly in line with the plan, while profit is projected to progress substantially ahead of the initial assumptions.
The full-year forecast was left unchanged because it remains uncertain how the factors behind the first-half upside will affect the second half. The company said it will disclose any necessary revisions following ongoing scrutiny.
