Oura has announced Ring 5, featuring a thinner design and new sensors to improve accuracy and battery life. Priced from $399, it will begin shipping on 4 June.
Oura has announced Ring 5, the new generation of its smart ring. It is said to be approximately 40% smaller than the previous model, with the ring's width reduced by approximately 2 millimeters and its thickness by approximately 30% to make it lighter. The ring is available in sizes 6–13 and 6 finishes. The black and silver versions are priced at $399, while the other finishes cost $499; Ring 4 started at $349.
Ring 5 includes features covering biometric signals such as blood pressure signals and breathing during sleep, along with real-time activity monitoring and newly added capabilities such as on-demand care. The newly designed sensors and optical system have been improved to accommodate differences in skin tone and size, while battery life is reported to be 6 to 9 days.
An update to the background monitoring feature called Health Radar detects patterns and trends in biometric indicators and provides alerts indicating possible changes in blood pressure. Through its partnership with Counsel Health, Oura is also expanding its ability to provide on-demand health services combining AI with certified physicians.
Preorders for Ring 5 are now open, with shipping scheduled to begin on 4 June. The ring is designed for a broad range of users, with expanded health features including enhanced real-time activity monitoring, insights related to GLP-1, and participation in the Brain Health Study.
