Under the partnership, Cellid will design and provide the reference design and provide technical support, while SB C&S will handle the procurement, sales and deployment support for products based on the design, as well as planning and executing marketing initiatives.
AR glasses are moving from the proof-of-concept stage toward market launch, and their adoption will depend not only on device performance but also on sales and post-deployment support capabilities. Cellid provides display modules centered on wide-field-of-view waveguides, as well as spatial-recognition software technology, supporting manufacturers in bringing products to market in less time and at lower cost. SB C&S will leverage its IT distribution network to roll out products based on the reference design nationwide and provide deployment support.
Going forward, the companies will combine Cellid's technology with SB C&S's distribution platform to promote the market launch and adoption of AR glasses. Comments from representatives of both companies expressed the view that AR glasses could become a new computing platform that overlays information onto the physical world, as well as their ambition to deliver value to a broad range of customers.
