In the Tokyo market, dollar-yen briefly rose to the ¥157.80 range amid position adjustments. The dollar was stronger and the yen weaker than the previous day, influenced by market activity ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.

In the previous day's New York market, dollar-yen closed at around ¥157.56, with expectations of an additional Bank of Japan rate hike and trends in crude oil prices cited as supporting factors.
