IndexBox has released its 2035 outlook for the global structural steel market. CAGR for 2026-2035 is expected to be approximately 3.2%, with the 2035 market index projected to rise to approximately 137 (2025=100). Asia-Pacific is expected to be the largest market by region, with infrastructure investment and urbanization in China, India and other countries driving growth.
The global structural steel market is expected to grow moderately from 2026 through 2035, with an estimated average annual growth rate of approximately 3.2%. Demand is expected to be supported by infrastructure investment and progress in the energy transition, a recovery in nonresidential construction and the reshoring of manufacturing, with energy-transition-related demand expected to be a particularly strong driver. The reorganization of geopolitical raw-material supply and tighter environmental regulations are cited as risks, but over the long term, decarbonization and growth in higher-value-added products are expected to support the market.
