AFJ株式会社 announced that its concrete glazing water-based paint, "アクアカラー デュオトーン," received the Renovation Award at the 20th LIFE×DESIGN Award. To commemorate the award, the company will relaunch a campaign offering up to 3 painted-panel samples free of charge.
AFJ株式会社 announced that its concrete glazing water-based paint, "アクアカラー デュオトーン," launched in June this year, received the Renovation Award at LIFE×DESIGN, held at Tokyo Big Sight. The award was announced at the event, where the company exhibited in July, and the winning product was recognized for its design, which preserves the texture of concrete while layering two translucent colors.
The award was announced and presented at the venue for the Tokyo International Gift Show Autumn 2026, the 20th LIFE×DESIGN. The product was selected for the Renovation Award. The report cited its ability to make use of existing flooring and wall materials, as well as its design technique for creating depth reminiscent of natural stone, as factors behind the award.
A campaign commemorating the award has been relaunched and will run from 15 September 2026 through the end of December. Under the campaign, customers requesting painted-panel samples (15 cm mortar panels) can receive up to 3 free of charge, compared with the usual limit of 1 per project. Requests are accepted through the sample request form on the official website.
The product, "アクアカラー デュオトーン," is a water-based paint that creates a natural-stone-like finish by layering two translucent colors, and can be used on both floors and walls. The company has also provided details of its application features, including a formulation designed to promote hardening with a primer, water-based and noncombustible specifications, and a range of 10 color patterns.
