OPPO announced ColorOS 17, based on Android 17. It published the eligible models and rollout timing, including models for the Japanese market, with the OPPO Find X10 series to be the first to adopt it, followed by support through software updates.
OPPO announced its new ColorOS 17 operating system, based on Android 17, at the online ColorOS 17 Global Launch Event. It provided details of the Android 17/ColorOS 17 operating system upgrade and rollout timing for multiple models, including the Find N6 series. Models cited for the Japanese market include the Find N6, Find X9 Ultra and Find X9, with rollout scheduled to begin gradually from 29 October 2026.
The announcement introduced Living Flow Design as a new user experience. Its 3 core concepts are Luminous Effect, Fluid Motion and Flexible Feedback, which are intended to enhance visual depth and the smoothness of operation while making touch response more intuitive. In addition, ColorOS 17 strengthens its integrated rendering architecture and Laminar Flow Engine, reducing rendering workload by up to 30% and RAM used for rendering by up to 25%.
AI-related functions have also been significantly expanded. New features in the AI Mind family include Agent Mode, AI Photo Agent and AI Mind Space, enhancing AI-powered file search and organisation, photo-editing assistance and data processing designed around privacy protection. A transparency report and AI Call Guard have also been introduced, enabling greater visibility into data processing and the detection of suspicious activity.
A list of eligible models and rollout timing is provided at the end, with rollout scheduled to take place in stages during October, November and December 2026 and Q1 2027.
The overall ColorOS 17 initiative emphasises expanding AI functions and improving system-wide responsiveness, with the aim of delivering a consistent experience across multiple devices.
