Mitsubishi Logistics President Saito Hidechika (斉藤 秀親) explained the company's plans to grow into a total logistics company through the acquisition after reports that it had announced the acquisition of shares in Hankyu Hanshin Express.
On 2 November 2026, Mitsubishi Logistics President Saito Hidechika (斉藤 秀親) held a press conference at the headquarters of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to explain the acquisition of shares in Hankyu Hanshin Express announced on 30 October.
President Saito positioned the M&A as a "strategic investment to take Mitsubishi Logistics to its next stage amid a rapidly changing business environment" and emphasized the goal of becoming a total logistics company supporting the overall optimization of supply chains connecting land, sea and air.
Following the acquisition, forwarding revenue is expected to reach ¥168.8 billion on a simple combined basis, making the company the fourth-largest in Japan's domestic market. The Mitsubishi Logistics Group's overseas revenue ratio is also expected to change from approximately 20% currently to approximately 31%.
Going forward, the company will advance post-merger integration over a target period of 3 years, build synergies while overcoming the temporary cost impact immediately after the acquisition, and aim to achieve positive EPS. It also plans to strengthen services using air freight in priority fields including pharmaceuticals, automobiles and semiconductors.
