The Yokoyama Art Museum’s special exhibition “Works from the Yokoyama Art Museum collection: Elegant Old Noritake × Noritake” is being held. It presents the beauty of Old Noritake and Noritake, centered on approximately 580 items from the museum’s collection.
The special exhibition displays approximately 580 items selected from the more than 1,600 Old Noritake and Noritake pieces held by the Yokoyama Art Museum and runs from 23 October 2026 to 22 March 2027. The exhibition space will be expanded beyond its usual size. The museum will be open from 10:00 to 17:00, with last admission at 16:30. It is closed on Mondays; when a Monday is a public holiday, it will open that day and close on the following weekday. There will also be temporary closures during the year-end and New Year holidays.
To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Morimura & Co., the exhibition introduces the efforts and business development of the brothers Morimura Ichizaemon (森村市左衛門) and Morimura Yutaka (森村豊). The elder brother traveled throughout Japan to source products, while the younger brother managed the New York store and developed it into Morimura Brothers.
