In September 2026, Shimadzu Corporation exhibited at 3 events, NewtonFES, Science Agora 2026 and Science Fest 2026 in Oita, presenting the appeal of science through demonstrations of cutting-edge science and interactive exhibits.
NewtonFES, which provides opportunities to experience cutting-edge science, was held at Shibuya Hikarie and featured corporate exhibits, lectures and talk sessions. It attracted more than 2,000 visitors. At its booth, the company introduced technologies through the theme of numbers, and its full-size model of an optical lattice clock attracted attention.
Science Agora 2026 was held at the Telecom Center Building in Odaiba, Tokyo, and attracted approximately 5,000 visitors. The company's booth offered an interactive experience based on materials that fluoresce under ultraviolet light, and 1,000 copies of an original booklet were distributed. The Hidden Science Brain Test was also introduced.
Science Fest 2026 in Oita was held on 19 and 20 September. As an event where parents and children could experience science, it offered a quiz using a spectrophotometer to explore measurement. A demonstration using the UV-1900 iPlus communicated the relevance of science to everyday life.
Through these 3 events, employees of the company also shared their experiences, highlighting its efforts to communicate science and technology to society.
