Tobu Railway will revise the timetable on 21 November 2026 (Saturday). To address congestion on trains arriving at Funabashi Station during the morning rush, the number of local trains arriving in the 7 a.m. hour will be increased, and section rapid service will be introduced to supplement local trains arriving at Funabashi.
The new section rapid service will be introduced on some trains bound for Funabashi, and all trains between Kashiwa and Funabashi will be operated using 80000 series and 5-car 60000 series trainsets. This is intended to standardize boarding positions for “Tanoshii Seat” and save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
The first train from Iwatsuki Station to Kashiwa will also depart earlier to improve connections to the Tobu Skytree Line, while nighttime connections at Kashiwa Station on weekdays will also be improved. In addition, Tsukada and Shin-Funabashi stations are scheduled to be added as stops for section rapid service.
