The Meitetsu Group has begun construction of a new hotel in Nakamura Ward, Nagoya, in the Meieki area, with completion scheduled for May 2028. The hotel will have 17 storeys above ground and 117 rooms, and a hotel brand entering Nagoya for the first time is under consideration.
Meitetsu Urban Development, part of the Nagoya Railroad Group, began construction on 2 November of a 17-storey hotel with 117 rooms on a 734.12-square-metre site in 4-chome Meieki. A restaurant will occupy the first floor along the street, with the aim of creating greater activity in the surrounding area. The site is a 9-minute walk from the Sakura-dori Exit of JR Nagoya Station and 2 minutes from Kokusai Center Station.
Meitetsu Urban Development is developing the hotel, while Meitetsu Inn is scheduled to handle its opening and operation. A hotel brand entering the Nagoya area for the first time is under consideration, with the company aiming to attract both business and leisure demand in the surrounding area.
Meitetsu Hotel Holdings described hotel demand around Meieki as “a market with solid business demand as well as significant potential in the leisure segment,” and indicated that domestic and international business and leisure travellers would be its main target markets. Construction began on 2 November 2026, with completion scheduled for the end of May 2028.
