NEC and Tsuruha Holdings will conduct a pilot from September 2026 to optimize inventory allocation between stores using the NEC SCM AI Agent. The aim is to verify the feasibility of optimal inventory management based on differences in demand.
In the retail industry, differences in demand trends between stores are widening, resulting in some stores carrying excess inventory and others experiencing stockouts. In response to these issues, the movement of products between stores and the burden of inventory management have become challenges.
The pilot will use NEC's SCM AI Agent to analyze data such as sales results and inventory levels, with the aim of creating an optimal inventory allocation plan based on future demand.
Tsuruha Holdings will assess the potential for more advanced and efficient optimal inventory management using an AI agent. NEC is expected to contribute to more advanced inventory management in the retail industry through the use of AI agents.
This release includes related materials and an attached release that outline the current status and challenges of inventory transfers between stores as background to the pilot.
