The US Department of Justice and FBI announced that they had seized vulnerability-detection and attack tools used by a company contracted by the Chinese government. The seized assets comprised seven domains, and multiple facilities, including Japanese airports, were listed as targets.
The company whose tools were seized was Integrity Technology Group, which is believed to have been contracted by the Chinese government. The company reportedly accessed targeted systems and provided tools for identifying vulnerabilities and other purposes.
According to investigators, the listed targets included, in part, US power companies, airports in Japan and Poland, and universities in Taiwan. The company was also investigated in September 2024 and designated as a US sanctions target.
