MUJI will launch 21 new items, including pants, as part of its “Return to Materials” series. The products are planned for nationwide rollout with designs intended to improve recyclability after collection, including the use of PET materials throughout and recycled polyester.
Ryohin Keikaku, which operates MUJI, announced that it will launch 21 new items from its “Return to Materials” series, which aims to circulate clothing that has served its purpose as a resource. This season’s expanded lineup will focus on fleece and knitwear and include products for women, men and children.
The series uses PET materials consistently not only for the main fabric but also for components such as buttons, sewing thread and labels, making sorting and disassembly easier after collection. From the autumn/winter 2026 season onward, the company plans to include “Return to Materials” in the product names and standardize the labeling as well.
Pants are the first item in the series to use polyester for the elastic waistband, achieving consistency of materials. The lineup makes use of fleece’s light, comfortable feel and is designed to be easy to coordinate with cardigans and pullovers.
The women’s lineup centers on washable knitwear made from 100% recycled polyester and includes a V-neck vest (¥2,990), washable crew-neck cardigan (¥4,990), knit-combination dress (¥5,990) and blouse T-shirt (¥3,990). Prices include tax, and the products are being presented as new items for 26AW this season.
