KOKUYO announced that SIROSIRO Garden, the launch event for its new SIROSIRO project, will be held at 965BKK in Bangkok, Thailand, from 11 to 14 November 2026.
SIROSIRO Garden, the launch event for SIROSIRO, a new project that explores placemaking across Asia, will be held at 965BKK in Bangkok, Thailand, from 11 to 14 November 2026. The event will include a launch conference held in preparation for the debut of the project’s magazine, with talks and discussions planned locally.
SIROSIRO will centre on the launch of a new magazine published in Japanese, Chinese and English, scheduled for 11 November, events called SIROSIRO Garden in cities across Asia, and information sharing via social media. Details of the inaugural issue are expected to be announced separately.
SIROSIRO aims to do more than create physical spaces. It will observe and document the connections between people, culture and the environment. The name “Shiro” refers to “a place where mushrooms grow”, a term passed down by foragers in the Tohoku region, and suggests the ecosystem that supports a place. The project’s tagline is “Art & Ecology of Places.”
The project is being planned and operated by KOKUYO’s Yokoku Institute, a research and design lab that studies and puts into practice alternatives for future society, together with 黒鳥社, a creative collective working across magazines, web media, video and events.
