German chemical major Evonik said it would not enter negotiations after receiving a takeover proposal from BASF. It said, however, that it would engage in dialogue for the purpose of exchanging information.
German company Evonik Industries said it would not enter negotiations regarding a takeover proposal from fellow chemical company BASF. It reiterated this policy at an earnings briefing.
Interim President Rettig (レティヒ氏) took office in September and addressed the matter at an earnings briefing held on the 3rd. The briefing provided an opportunity to explain the policy in his capacity following the leave of absence of President Christian Kullmann (クリスチャン・クルマン氏) for medical treatment.
Evonik said it would engage in dialogue for the purpose of exchanging information, including explaining BASF’s areas of interest, and those involved indicated a willingness to continue the dialogue.
