ABEJA announced that it had developed a new feature, Triple HITL, which further strengthens the use of AI in mission-critical operations, and had filed a patent application. An overview was provided of the new design, which combines safety with the continuous advancement of the AI system as a whole.
To strengthen the use of AI in its own mission-critical operations, ABEJA developed Triple HITL, an evolution of Human in the Loop, and filed a patent application. Since its founding in 2012, the company has placed importance on operations and continuous enhancement based on the uncertainty of AI and the involvement of people.
Triple HITL is a system architecture that continuously and autonomously improves the AI system as a whole while maintaining safety through collaboration between people and AI. Its defining feature is that it clearly distinguishes the involvement of AI and people by dividing the system into 3 loops: the execution loop, improvement loop and expansion loop.
The execution loop supports real-time decision-making in the field, with staff approving or rejecting proposed business actions in real time. The improvement loop advances improvement activities aimed at increasing AI accuracy by articulating the background information that serves as a basis for decisions and converting know-how into explicit knowledge.
The expansion loop is a mechanism for safely extending new knowledge and deploying it horizontally to data environments in other departments. It aims to expand the scope of application while maintaining the stability of existing systems by incorporating external data and obtaining approval for integration proposals.
Going forward, ABEJA plans to promote the incorporation of Triple HITL into the ABEJA Platform, accelerating AI implementation in mission-critical operations and improving the platform's robustness.
