The "Summer Course 2026" study program in Japan, conducted in Fukuoka by Indonesia's BINUS University and 麻生専門学校, provided students with an opportunity to learn about Japanese technology and workplace culture through one month of classes, corporate internships, factory visits and cultural experiences.
The "Summer Course 2026" study program in Japan was conducted for students of BASE, jointly operated by BINUS University and 学校法人麻生塾. In 2026, the program ran from 18 August to 15 September. A total of 87 people were hosted: 82 students and 5 accompanying faculty members.
During the program, students took specialized classes taught by faculty members and participated in a range of activities, including corporate internships, factory and company visits, cultural experiences and student exchanges. The program provided an opportunity to deepen in Japan what they had learned in Indonesia.
At the final presentation session, each group presented the results of its project based on its assigned theme. The question-and-answer sessions with company representatives provided an opportunity to develop perspectives on applying the knowledge they had acquired to their work.
Groups from the Department of Product Design Engineering and the Department of Business Engineering presented proposals for planning and developing pet products. Other groups worked on projects including the construction of a wind-powered walking mobility vehicle.
The program is distinguished by its opportunities to experience Japanese-language education as well as Japanese manufacturing and workplace philosophies. Students also had the opportunity to receive evaluations and advice from companies at the conclusion of the program.
