M&A Capital Partners raised its full-year forecast while lowering its completed-deal forecast. The higher proportion of large deals is said to have boosted earnings, while Strike Group left its full-year plan unchanged.
MACP raised its full-year forecast after revising net profit up 6% in its results through the third quarter of the fiscal year ending September 2026. Strike Group, meanwhile, left its full-year plan unchanged in its results for the same period.
The two companies are broadly similar in terms of revenue progress, with MACP at 72.9% and Strike at 71.1%, both tracking at roughly the same level. However, MACP's operating margin of approximately 39.3% exceeds Strike's approximately 32.0%, resulting in a difference in earnings accumulation.
The background to MACP's upward revision includes raising its forecast for large deals, which generate higher fees per transaction, from 63 to 66, while lowering its forecast for total completed deals from 298 to 282. Of the 81 completed deals expected to remain in the fourth quarter, 21 are expected to be large deals, and the large-deal-focused mix is said to have boosted earnings.
While Strike's key indicators in its earnings materials are generally tracking within a similar range, the next focus is said to be whether it can accumulate the approximately 32.2% of full-year net profit remaining in the fourth quarter within its plan. The difference between MACP and Strike appears to be driven more by their profit-generation structures than by the number of deals.
