Buying continued after the open, and the index recovered to the ¥66,000 range, while continued selling in some semiconductor manufacturing equipment stocks capped the upside.
Among individual stocks, SoftBank Group, Fast Retailing, Recruit Holdings, Toyota, Daiichi Sankyo, Sony Group, Honda and Nitori Holdings, among others, rose. Meanwhile, Tokyo Electron, Ibiden, Advantest, Fujikura, Kyocera, Murata Manufacturing, Lasertec, Taiyo Yuden, SMC, Omron, JT and Sumitomo Electric, among others, declined.
