On 1 October 2026, LINE Yahoo announced its participation in Apple's Mini App Partner Program. As a result, the revenue share received by LINE Mini App businesses is expected to rise from the previous 69% to 80%, making it the first mini-app provider in Japan to participate. The company has indicated a policy of expanding its digital customer touchpoints going forward.
The payment fee structure will also change significantly. Before the program was applied, the total fee was 31%, comprising Apple's 26% payment processing fee and LINE Yahoo's 5% fee. After the program is applied, Apple's fee will be reduced to 15%, bringing the total fee to 20% and increasing the share received by businesses.
Through this initiative, LINE Yahoo plans to strengthen its ecosystem by combining its user base of more than 100 million with its advertising and payments businesses, with a particular focus on promoting digitalisation among small and medium-sized businesses. Current monthly active users are reported to be approximately 28.97 million.
