東北銀行 participated in a rice-harvesting event hosted by the agricultural cooperative corporation なんも in Morioka and proposed the generation of J-Credits to farmers as part of decarbonized agriculture.
Seven officers and employees of 東北銀行, including Managing Executive Officer and Director Sasaki Jun (佐々木 淳), participated in the rice-harvesting event held on 22 October as part of “Tohoku Farmland Real Experience 2026.” The event was held at なんも in Morioka and hosted by agricultural venture フェイガー.
東北銀行 proposed to local farmers and others an initiative for decarbonized agriculture that generates J-Credits by extending the midseason drainage period for rice cultivation. The generated J-Credits are expected to be purchased and sold in collaboration with フェイガー, which introduced 東北銀行 as one of the organizations generating J-Credits.
In addition to representatives from the Mirai Creation Department, the bank was represented by Tachibana Masami (立花 正己), manager of the Tonan Branch, and Hiraga Yuto (平賀 佑東). A total of 16 people attended and exchanged information with farmers and representatives of companies purchasing J-Credits. Farmers asked about the taste of rice harvested from fields where midseason drainage had been carried out, and were told that it was no different from regular rice.
The event was covered in a members-only article, which stated that registering as a member would enable access to paid articles.
