Mitsubishi Motors announced that the new Pajero will officially launch on 17 December. At the company’s headquarters, President Kishiura Keisuke (岸浦恵介) discussed domestic order trends, overseas rollout plans and plans to participate in future races during his address and a briefing on the product.
The official launch date for the new Pajero was announced as 17 December. President Kishiura explained that approximately 5,500 orders had been received as of 26 October as part of preparations for the domestic launch. He indicated that formal orders would begin once the domestic launch was announced. Overseas, the new model was announced and launched in Thailand on 19 October, with approximately 2,000 orders reported as of 28 October. In Australia, the model has also received a strong initial response, and the company expects to receive a large number of orders.
Vehicle deployment in Japan is scheduled to begin around December, and 12 display vehicles are currently available. President Kishiura said the company intends to expand orders by establishing its production and sales structure and enhancing the availability of actual vehicles for viewing.
At the product briefing for the new Pajero, Mitsubishi Motors identified "Confidence," "Comfort" and "Prestige" as the three product values embodying the Mitsubishi character, and outlined a grade lineup targeting two anticipated customer segments. GLS and GSR will be available for performance-focused customers, while the premium EXCEED and SUPER EXCEED models will target post-young families. The company also discussed expanding the cabin and improving its overall refinement.
