Oracle Japan is expanding its collaboration with AWS, extending Oracle AI Database@AWS availability to 22 regions worldwide. The company has also made a new Exadata service generally available, supporting the development of AI-driven applications.
On 17 August 2026, Oracle Japan expanded its long-term strategic collaboration agreement with AWS and strengthened the delivery framework for Oracle AI Database@AWS. As a result, the service is now available in 22 regions worldwide, and a new service that enables flexible use of the latest database capabilities within AWS environments has also become generally available.
A key part of the announcement is the general availability of Oracle Exadata Database Service on Exascale Infrastructure. The service provides access to Exadata capabilities on a usage-based pricing model and can scale flexibly from small databases to large AI workloads.
It also supports instant thin cloning for storage, enabling development and testing environments to be created immediately. Availability has expanded to 22 AWS regions across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, allowing customers to operate on a consistent architecture while complying with data sovereignty regulations.
As customer examples, CJ Olive Young has adopted the service to migrate mission-critical workloads to the cloud and is accelerating AI innovation by integrating it with services such as AWS Bedrock. Kobalt Music Group and ATM also use it as mission-critical infrastructure.
The expanded collaboration between Oracle and AWS is intended to support the modernization of companies’ legacy systems and the development of AI-driven applications through global deployment support and ecosystem expansion.
