Sakaide City has signed an agreement with JGC HOLDINGS CORPORATION and 4 other companies to recover waste cooking oil collected from residents as a feedstock for SAF. The parties will expand waste oil collection and develop a large-scale domestic SAF production system.
Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture, signed an agreement on 30 September 2026 with JGC HOLDINGS CORPORATION, コスモ石油株式会社, 株式会社レボインターナショナル and 合同会社SAFFAIRE SKY ENERGY to recover waste cooking oil as a resource for use as a feedstock for SAF. The agreement aims to expand collection of waste cooking oil used as a SAF feedstock and help achieve a decarbonised, resource-circulating society, with Sakaide City promoting the collection of household cooking oil. This is the first such initiative in the Shikoku region.
Under the agreement, Sakaide City established waste cooking oil collection points at 8 locations across the city on the same day. レボインターナショナル collects and transports the oil gathered from residents to the SAFFAIRE SKY ENERGY plant. The collected oil is recovered as a feedstock for domestic SAF, and oil discharged by the school meal center has been supplied for domestic SAF production since August 2023.
