HIOKI E.E. CORPORATION has launched training for business partners on calculating GHG emissions. It held a training session on 16 September and is working to quantify emissions across the entire supply chain toward achieving carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and 2.
HIOKI E.E. CORPORATION (Ueda, Nagano Prefecture) announced that it had launched training for business partners on calculating GHG emissions. Toward achieving Scope 3 carbon neutrality by 2035, it will support business partners in calculating their emissions and work to quantify and reduce emissions across the entire supply chain.
The training will be conducted on an ongoing basis with the cooperation of SGS Japan, a third-party verification body. It covers understanding GHGs and calculation standards, methods for calculating Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, developing reduction measures, establishing systems for collecting primary data, and the latest trends in decarbonisation management. A training session was held on 16 September.
The company achieved carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 emissions on a market-based basis in 2025. It is currently working to achieve carbon neutrality for Scope 3, which covers emissions associated with activities across the entire supply chain.
The company aims to obtain the primary data required to calculate Scope 3 emissions from key business partners by 2030. Through education, training and dialogue with business partners, it seeks to improve data quality while reducing emissions.
