丸大食品 has begun joint research with the University of Tokyo Graduate School to develop new branded pigs using food waste. As a contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the company will promote food-loss reduction and the circular use of unused local resources.
丸大食品 recently began joint research with the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The research aims to establish a new branded-pig line using food waste and to produce and sell high-quality, nutritionally rich meat.
The research is prompted by growing social demand to reduce food loss and make use of unused local resources. Against this backdrop, the initiative places strong emphasis on contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through this initiative, the company expects to reduce food loss through the circular use of food waste, while leveraging joint research with the university to substantiate product quality and deliver credible promotional benefits.
