FCNT has announced the new arrows Alpha2 smartphone. Emphasizing its durability, the company presented evidence that it is the world’s toughest smartphone measuring 10 mm or less in thickness under conditions covering 196 countries worldwide.
FCNT held a presentation for its new model on 18 August and announced that SIM-free models in 4 colors would be released sequentially from 27 August. The president and the head of the Integrated Marketing Strategy Division attended the presentation, where they emphasized the Arrows Alpha2’s durability.
As evidence of its world-leading toughness, the company cited a survey conducted as of May 2026 by the alternative research institution Future Trend Research Institute. The survey covered smartphones measuring 10 mm or less in thickness in 196 countries worldwide, including Japan, and evaluated models that underwent testing in accordance with the US Department of Defense’s procurement standards.
The Alpha2 uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for its display, while its fiberglass back offers strong scratch resistance. The development team emphasized its durability, saying that the phone had passed FCNT’s own 1.8 m drop test from a height.
The phone also offers IP6X dust resistance and IPX6/8/9 water resistance, and was described as usable even when wet. Its underwater photography function is also said to support use in freshwater at a depth of 1 m for approximately 30 minutes.
