SKY Perfect JSAT disclosed that SKY Perfect! Members' email addresses may have been leaked. Unauthorized access to IDC Frontier's cloud infrastructure has made it impossible to deliver some promotional emails.
On 13 October 2026, SKY Perfect JSAT announced that members' email addresses may have been leaked from an external service used to deliver emails to SKY Perfect! Members.
The affected system was part of the external service used for email delivery, which operated on IDC Frontier's cloud infrastructure. On the same day, IDC Frontier disclosed that part of its IDCF Cloud service had suffered an outage caused by a ransomware attack.
Only members' email addresses may have been leaked. The company says that personal information such as names, addresses, telephone numbers and credit card numbers, as well as email subject lines and bodies, was not at risk of leakage. The number of potentially leaked records has not been disclosed.
Although the incident potentially involved only email addresses, they could be used for spoofed emails or phishing. The report notes the importance of confirming arrangements through contracts and inspections, bearing in mind that the impact could spread via a cloud service operated by an outsourced provider.
