The 5th Fussa Kurabiraki, jointly hosted by Ishikawa Brewery and Tamura Shuzojō in Fussa, Tokyo, will be held on 7 November 2026 (Saturday). The event will take place at all 5 venues in Fussa, while the Haijima Station-front Shopping Association Festival in Akishima will also be held concurrently that day.
Fussa Kurabiraki is an annual event celebrating autumn’s new sake. This year, Ishikawa Brewery, which has been in business for more than 160 years, will participate, with new sake and limited-edition Kurabiraki sake scheduled to go on sale. Ishikawa Brewery, one of the venues, has 6 nationally registered tangible cultural properties, including buildings dating from the Meiji period, and offers visitors a “theme park for sake lovers” where they can enjoy sake and food together.
In addition to Ishikawa Brewery and Tamura Shuzojō, the Nishitama Craft Beer Festival, the Fussa Kurabiraki Children’s Festival and the Haijima Station-front Shopping Association Festival will be held concurrently. The events will promote the appeal of the region across all 5 venues spanning Fussa and Akishima. A Miss SAKE appearance is also scheduled, providing an opportunity to promote sake and Japanese culture in Japan and overseas.
Highlights of the Kurabiraki include sales of autumn’s new sake and limited-edition Kurabiraki sake, tours of the breweries’ historic buildings, events promoting sake, and experiences combining sake and food at the breweries’ direct-sale shops and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of the breweries. Organisers will also provide free shuttle buses and information on surrounding events.
