NTN announced that it is testing a “Talking Bearing” with built-in sensors and wireless functionality. Vibration and temperature can be monitored in real time simply by replacing an existing bearing, and early commercialization is the goal.
NTN is conducting validation toward the commercialization of a new type of bearing, the “Talking Bearing,” with built-in sensors and wireless communications functionality. This is expected to enable real-time monitoring of equipment vibration and temperature.
The validation assumes replacement of existing bearings and aims to detect early signs of failure.
