Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories has revised upward its consolidated interim earnings forecast. In addition to steady performance in its CRO business, foreign exchange gains have been recorded, prompting upward revisions to its outlook for net sales and each profit measure.
Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories has revised upward its consolidated interim earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027. The company raised its previously announced forecast, with net sales revised from ¥16.596 billion to ¥17.154 billion, operating profit from ¥463 million to ¥1.240 billion, ordinary profit from ¥1.948 billion to ¥2.988 billion, and interim net income from ¥1.167 billion to ¥1.917 billion.
The percentage changes are net sales up 3.4%, operating profit up 167.8%, ordinary profit up 53.4%, and interim net income up 64.3%, with the large revisions to profit measures described as a notable feature.
The revision reflects steady performance in the CRO business. In addition to the upside in net sales, the expected deferral of expense recognition for part of the TR business into the second half is expected to boost profit.
The company also said that foreign exchange gains of ¥172 million recorded in the first quarter contributed to the revision, noting that these gains had not been incorporated into its previous forecast.
The assumed exchange rate for the fiscal year ending March 2027 remains unchanged at ¥150 to the U.S. dollar.
