Bandai Namco Holdings raised its earnings forecast for the six months ending September. Strong toy and hobby products and the rollout of established IP, including Gundam, are expected to lead to revenue and profit growth.
Bandai Namco Holdings raised its earnings forecast for the six months ending September on 6 August. Net sales are expected to be ¥690.0 billion, operating profit ¥124.0 billion, ordinary profit ¥130.0 billion, net income ¥90.0 billion, and earnings per share (EPS) ¥140.33. These figures represent increases of approximately 13.1%, 47.6%, 49.4% and 50.0%, respectively, from the previous forecasts.
The company said that, in addition to strong first-quarter results, the promotion of its IP-based strategy contributed to synergies across its businesses, taking into account its sales and marketing plans for the second quarter. In particular, steady performance across toy and hobby product categories in Japan and overseas led to substantial profit growth.
Products and services based on IP, including the established Gundam series, showed a strong presence in the market, and the strength of the overall portfolio contributed to results, the company said. Going forward, it plans to assess sales trends for major titles from the third quarter onward and the performance of the year-end and New Year sales season, while taking into account the strong first-quarter performance.
The full-year earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 remains unchanged at this time.
