吉本興業 and SBIホールディングス reached a basic agreement on a strategic business alliance. The two companies said they plan to use joint ventures and large-scale funds to accelerate the overseas expansion of entertainment IP.
吉本興業 announced that it had reached a basic agreement with SBIホールディングス on a strategic business alliance in the entertainment sector. The two companies will combine the resources of content holders and others to strengthen the development of new content and the global distribution of entertainment IP.
Against the backdrop of the alliance, the companies are expected to establish a joint venture and begin developing new content across a wide range of fields, including variety shows, films, sports, anime, games, VTubers, XR live events and vertical short-form dramas, using a content fund worth approximately ¥100 billion to be established by SBI.
The SBI Group said it will use its bases and partnership network around the world to strengthen the overseas rollout of programme formats and the organisation of LIVE events. It will also link its regional revitalisation network with 吉本興業's regional initiatives, contributing to the distribution of content from regional areas.
