MinebeaMitsumi announced that it would change the schedule for acquiring Panasonic Industry's automotive motors business. The new acquisition date is 1 March 2027, postponed from the originally scheduled 2 November.
The acquisition covers 2 businesses: automotive motors and cooling fan motors for automotive applications. MinebeaMitsumi will acquire both businesses. The change is due to the transition work and preparations for the order-management structure taking longer than expected.
Combined revenue from the 2 businesses was ¥31.8 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2025. Panasonic Industry, a subsidiary of Panasonic Holdings, has energy-efficient motor-control and heat-treatment technologies, and aims to expand its product lineup by combining these technologies with MinebeaMitsumi's motors business.
The company may also seek synergies with its bearings and semiconductor businesses in the future.
