東リ held a press briefing on 17 September and announced new flooring products centered on its digital printing technology, irodoria. The company also disclosed plans to begin sales during fiscal 2026, along with new patterns and functions.
東リ held the “2026 東リ Press Briefing” on 17 September and announced the future launch of 4 products, including a new institutional curtain sample book, new patterns and colors of flooring for bathrooms and bathing facilities, dust-control carpeting, and Toilet Tile NW-EX, as well as “irodoria (Irodoria),” a multilayer vinyl flooring product incorporating digital printing technology.
The core new product, “irodoria,” uses proprietary digital printing technology that 東リ developed over more than 10 years. The technology can produce high-definition prints on elastic film more than 1 metre wide, eliminating the need for printing plates and substantially easing constraints on pattern repeats and the number of colors. Delivery times, which previously took around 4 months, are expected to be shortened to approximately 2 weeks at the earliest.
The company highlighted that the technology supports natural-looking expressions such as wood grain and stone textures, as well as large-scale and complex graphics. It also enables reproduction after a product has been discontinued if the pattern data is available. The offering will expand from standard products to made-to-order and fully custom products, supporting new flooring proposals going forward.
Behind the announcement, the company outlined a policy of mitigating supply-chain risks affected by the situation in the Middle East. It said it would work to maintain supply capacity by restructuring raw material procurement and promoting in-house production. irodoria was positioned as a flagship initiative under the company’s medium-term management plan, “SHINKA Plus ONE 2.0.”
