SBI raised its price target for 日本マイクロニクス, while Sapporo Breweries was reportedly subjected to a compulsory investigation by the Japan Fair Trade Commission on suspicion of a cartel involving shipping prices. Toho's Daiwa rating was lowered, although growth related to intellectual property is expected. Asset Value Investors increased its stake in DTS, while same-store sales at Aoyama Trading and Asakuma remained firm in September.
日本マイクロニクス rose for a 7th straight session. SBI Securities maintained its Buy rating, citing improved profitability and demand, and raised its price target from ¥32,300 to ¥39,700. The brokerage expects demand for DRAM probe cards to increase as HBM and Chinese DRAM manufacturers expand their capital investment, and reportedly revised its sales and margin forecasts upward.
Sapporo Breweries extended its decline. The Nikkei reported that the Japan Fair Trade Commission had conducted a compulsory investigation into 4 major beer companies nationwide on suspicion of a cartel involving shipping prices. The 4 companies were reportedly Sapporo Breweries, Asahi Breweries, Kirin Brewery and Suntory, and the commission is proceeding with the investigation with a criminal complaint to prosecutors in view. The shares of the companies concerned also fell as a result.
Toho's Daiwa Securities investment rating changed from Outperform to Neutral, while its price target was raised from ¥1,400 to ¥1,660. The positive assessment of growth driven by intellectual property was maintained. Growth in intellectual property and animation is expected to offset declines in revenue and profit in the film business through the fiscal year ending February 2027, although concerns were expressed about the long-term growth potential of major intellectual properties.
DTS remained firm, according to the description. Asset Value Investors increased its holdings, and its stake in DTS changed from 6.43% to 7.45%. This confirmed that the firm's equity ownership ratio had increased. Aoyama Trading reported strong preliminary September same-store sales, up 6.0% year on year and 6.5% across all stores. Asakuma's corresponding preliminary figures rose 14.0% on a same-store basis and 28.1% across all stores.
