Using the Corporate Hometown Tax Program, LIFULL donated 25 Instant Rooms to Shimizu Town, Hokkaido. The donation is intended to support privacy protection for people requiring special consideration at evacuation shelters during disasters.
LIFULL donated 25 Instant Rooms to Shimizu Town, Hokkaido, through the Corporate Hometown Tax Program on 9 September 2026. On 14 October, the town held an appreciation letter presentation ceremony, at which LIFULL received a letter of appreciation from the mayor.
The initiative is intended to protect the privacy of people requiring special consideration at evacuation shelters in the event of a disaster and strengthen local governments’ disaster preparedness systems. It is expected to help strengthen disaster preparedness infrastructure that supports the safety and security of the local community.
Instant Rooms are assembly-type private spaces that use a multi-layer cardboard structure. They can be set up without tools by 2 adults in approximately 15 minutes. The rooms can be connected to change the available space, and can be recycled after use. Each unit weighs approximately 17kg and, when stored, fits into a flat stack measuring approximately 120cm × 65cm × 29cm.
Going forward, LIFULL plans to actively pursue co-creation with local governments aimed at regional development and stronger disaster preparedness.
The mayor of Shimizu Town and LIFULL representatives have emphasised new collaboration toward creating a community that is more resilient to disasters.
