The LH₂ BOG compressor developed and supplied by IHI回転機械エンジニアリング has been selected for the Kawasaki LH₂ Terminal of Kawasaki Heavy Industries,Ltd. It is expected to play a key role in supporting stable operations at the world's first commercial-scale liquefied hydrogen terminal.
The LH₂ BOG compressor developed by IHI回転機械エンジニアリング has been selected for the Kawasaki LH₂ Terminal, a liquefied hydrogen terminal being constructed by Kawasaki Heavy Industries,Ltd. at Ogishima in Kawasaki, Kanagawa. The Kawasaki LH₂ Terminal is positioned as part of the world's first commercial-scale liquefied hydrogen terminal and is supported by the Green Innovation Fund project administered by NEDO.
The compressor directly draws in and compresses boil-off gas (BOG) generated inside the LH₂ storage tank, maintaining the tank pressure at an appropriate level while supporting gas supply to customers. It is expected to contribute to stable terminal operations.
