Nippon Shinyaku announced that it had entered into an exclusive marketing agreement in Japan with Tanabe Pharma for the lymphoma treatment loncastuximab tesirine (MT-2111). The treatment is intended for Japanese patients with relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (r/r DLBCL), and the agreement was signed on the 22nd.
MT-2111 is a first-in-class anti-CD19 antibody–drug conjugate. Its developer, ADC Therapeutics, reportedly received accelerated approval from the US FDA in April 2021 for use as monotherapy in adult patients with r/r DLBCL. Development and commercialisation in Japan are based on a licence agreement between Tanabe Pharma and ADC Therapeutics.
Following the agreement and based on the results of the MT-2111-A-101 trial and overseas trials, a new drug application for manufacturing and marketing approval in Japan is scheduled to be filed on 29 October 2026. Tanabe Pharma will continue to advance development and seek approval.
The source article focuses on developments at Nippon Shinyaku and Tanabe Pharma and indicates that it will continue to follow the progress of the approval application.
