Ishikiri-style oden broth developed by food maker Daisho has gone on sale at all 170 Mandai supermarkets following a collaboration with Ishikiri Sando Shopping Street in Higashi-Osaka. The 750 g product is priced at ¥321.
Daisho, which makes sauces and hot-pot soups, developed broth inspired by the local oden served at Ishikiri Sando Shopping Street. It was designed to allow households to recreate the distinctive flavor of Ishikiri oden, characterized by a rich dashi flavor and sweetness, and went on sale at all stores after prototype testing at 6 shops.
Sales began at all 170 Mandai stores on 29 September and are scheduled to expand mainly in Higashi-Osaka. The product is priced at ¥321 for a 750 g pack serving 3–4 people.
Ishikiri oden was recognized in fiscal 2024 in the Agency for Cultural Affairs' 100-Year Food category, against the backdrop of the area's many visitors to Ishikiri Tsurugi Shrine. The development of Ishikiri oden's flavor reflects an initiative intended to revitalize the local community.
