A new Health app made its early debut in the iOS 27.2 beta, adding two tabs, Insights and Longevity. Availability is initially limited to U.S. English-language environments, with Japanese-language support and the timing of the official release still undecided.
The new Health app was unveiled at an announcement event in September, followed by the start of distribution as part of the iOS 27.2 beta. It is not included in the official release at this stage and is expected to be made available separately later this year. The beta has been released as an early-access version, and some features are designed to work with Apple Watch and external devices.
The new app adds two tabs, Insights and Longevity, and is expected to allow users to check their latest health data on a single screen. Insights displays data such as Activity Rings, heart rate, sleep score and vitals, and there are plans to provide personalized advice, although reports indicate that this has not yet been implemented in the beta.
The Longevity tab calculates Health Age and is designed to assess fitness based on a combination of activity levels, VO2 max and sleep duration. Fitness assessment results on the iPhone are also reflected in Health Age, and blood tests from Quest Diagnostics are expected to become available in the future as an additional test panel. Official information has not yet provided details on Japanese-language support or the timing of availability in Japan.
In Japan, measurement features such as sleep score, vitals and readiness are currently available as described, but no timeline has been set for using the Insights and Longevity screens in Japanese. As the service is expected to launch later this year, attention will turn to how the official Japan-facing pages are updated.
