Companies in Hai Phong are advancing initiatives to strengthen management capabilities and expand cooperation with Japanese companies. New partnerships are emerging through human-resource development under the Keieijuku program and business matching with Japanese companies.
Hung Vuong Packaging Joint Stock Company, which was founded 30 years ago, aims to grow revenue by reforming its management structure. Revenue was VND188.0 billion in 2020 and is expected to increase to nearly VND280.0 billion in 2025, with sales of offset-printing products expected to reach VND55.0 billion.
The company's chairman and CEO said that, through the strategic director training program at Keieijuku, the company redefined its vision and market positioning and pursued process improvements and higher productivity by applying strategic analysis methods, kaizen and 5S. Reforms in human-resource management have also advanced, including performance evaluation, decentralization and succession planning.
The Keieijuku program combines the practical experience of experts from Japan and Vietnam, aiming to develop management knowledge and apply it in practice. It has been conducted continuously since 2017 and has trained more than 700 business leaders and key managers. The 9th cohort corresponds to fiscal 2025–2026. From applications submitted by 25 companies, 30 participants were selected and completed the program, presenting business development strategy proposals for the next 3–5 years.
Efforts to expand cooperation with Japanese companies included opportunities to learn Japanese management methods through Keieijuku, with an overseas training visit to Japan conducted from late July to early August. The participants visited 5 companies, including Japan Transcity. The business-matching program held 17 in-person meetings, and cooperation expanded, with Sontana and Hai Duong Ceramic Joint Stock Company each establishing a partnership with a Japanese company.
