Minako Hara (原 美奈子), PIGEON CORPORATION's executive officer overseeing human capital and sustainability strategy, was selected in 2017 to serve as the dedicated section manager during the final phase of the Osaka headquarters relocation project and brought the team together in a short period. The episode was described in detail.
After working broadly in human resources and general affairs at Teijin, Minako Hara (原 美奈子) joined Teijin following a background at the Nagano Prefectural Government. Her guiding principle in choosing a new employer was the belief that women should be able to build long careers, and she learned about talent development in an environment promoting diversity.
She was first appointed to a management position around 2017, when she took on the role of dedicated section manager during the final phase of the Osaka headquarters relocation project. This involved a fundamental appointment as project leader in addition to her existing section-manager duties, with almost no handover period.
The project faced a host of issues, including insufficient seating and an undecided layout. Working under the General Affairs Department, the project owner, Hara led the entire project herself with the cooperation of the people involved. She is said to have served as the coordinator during the final phase.
The lessons Hara considers important from this experience are that each team member should fulfil their own role and that a cooperative structure should be built even in difficult situations. She currently oversees human capital strategy and sustainability initiatives at PIGEON CORPORATION, after working at the Corporate Strategy Division since joining the company.
