AEON will switch TOPVALU cut vegetables to in-house production, opening a dedicated plant in Saitama Prefecture and beginning supply to group stores in the Kanto region. Production is scheduled to begin through a jointly funded company established with ベジテック in May.
AEON will begin producing cut vegetables sold under its private brand (PB), TOPVALU, in-house. It plans to operate a newly built dedicated plant in Saitama Prefecture and switch from external sourcing to in-house production, with the aims of ensuring a stable supply, improving quality and reducing costs.
Production will be carried out through ベジテック・トップバリュ関東, a joint venture jointly funded by ベジテック (Kawasaki) and AEON TOPVALU. ベジテック has a base in Tokigawa Town, Saitama Prefecture, and will begin production through the joint venture.
The new plant is expected to supply approximately 5,000 group stores in the Kanto region. Details of future production volumes and the launch timing are provided in the body of the article.
